Number Ranges for Internal challan number not maintained

Hello SAPians,

When I am trying to create a remittance challan, getting the below error:

Number range for internal challan numbers not maintained

Message no. 8I706

Diagnosis

Number range object 'J_1ICHLNNO' is not maintained fully.

System Response

There is an error in the number range object and a new internal number can not be generated.

Procedure

Check if the number range object exists in your system and also check if number ranges for the number group is maintained for the current year. Maintain the number range object and then start this transaction. The transaction code for the number range maintenance is 'J1INUMBER'.

I have created the ranges for 2010 but surprised me that this is the challan for 2009 which was already maintained. The inputs are as below in J1INCHLN:

Fiscal year:2009

Posting dates in details of withholding items: 01.03.2010 to 31.03.2010

Tax remittance details:

Document date: 08.04.2010

Posting date: 08.04.2010

Need suggestion what I am missing.

Dear

Maintain Number ranges for Internal Challan Numbers in t.code J1INUMBER. This solves your problem. Go to interval-->Maintain. Then go to Edit --> Insert Year Now copy the number range for the year 2010 from 2009.
