We are planning to migrate Solution Manager 7.0 from Solaris SPARC platform with Oracle 10g to Solaris x86_64 platform with Oracle 10g. We do not want to loose any work and look for a heterogeneous copy method. We intend to keep the same SID name but change the virtual hostname.
NOTE: the source solution manager is release 7.0 Ehp1 SPS19
Has anyone performed a Solution Manager heterogenous copy? Can we change the virtual hostname during this process?
Regards,
Asif
Hello,
Sorry, I have not worked with system copy in Solution Manager. I can only recommend note 1297727, which outlines some considerations for ChaRM, which is a scenario that can be very affected by system copy.
In general, if you perform a system copy, you will have to create again all the RFCs, which could be quite a bit of work if you have a lot of managed systems. I am sorry I cannot provide more advice, but there is not a lot of information about system copy specific for Solution Manager, perhaps you may find more information in system logistics forums.
Best regards,
Miguel Ariñ
