hi friends
i am planning to schedule my sap offline backup using brtools. we have oracle 9i on AIX 5.3 and SAP ECC 5.0.
does anybody have any idea on how to write the scripts for scheduling backup offline...
please help.
thanks in advance...
Dear Narthan,
You may have Tivoli support for your backup....just ask them to configure the backup(you have to provide them the details like DB user/password, FS structure etc)......
Script and configuration may be vary from customer to customer and depends upon the requirement.

Hi,
Could you not use Transaction DB13 for your backups ? It uses Brtools

with TSM, you still do not need any scripts. Are you using the TSM-SAP backup agent?
if so, just call BRBACKUP from OS level, or even better, as suggested earlier, schedule this through DB13.
you will ned to adapt files init_<SID>.sap and init_<SID>.utl
you are unsure of what parameters to use for BRBACKUP? Then, run a backup through DB13 and fetch the command line from the backup log.
Good luck.
Hello,
As oraSID run the brtools
Select option 4 - Backup and database copy
Then select option 1 = Database backup
select the option 4 (your utl file path)
then select the option6 type(offline)
Then Continue,
You will get the command and parameters passed to it. Hope this helps you.
Mark the thread answered if your problem is resolved.
Thanks,
