Connection problem with Designer and SSAS 2000 through HTTP channel

Hello.

I'm new to Designer and I'm trying to create a new Universe based on OLAP cubes in Microsoft Analysis Services 2000.

My questions is: can Designer accepts connections through the HTTP channel?

Through Excel, I use the server address (ex. "http://servername/test") and the autentication info (user / password) then I can select the cube.

If I try with the same address and credential in Designer this does not work; Iu2019ve this error message generic SBO0001.

If I use the server name "servername.domainu201D (or the IP of server) and I login with user and password itu2019s ok.

For security reasons I can not enter the machine with IP but I must necessarily pass through HTTP.

The version of Designer is used when 12.1.0.914

Hi Stefano,

Engineering from Vancouver confrimed that the connectivity over HTTP is not supported in XI 3.1, we only access MSAS cubes through ODBO drivers.

By the way, HTTP (via XMLA interface) will be supported in XI 4.0 but we won't support MSAS 2000: we will only support MSAS 2005 and MSAS 2008.
