Hi,

During Production Order settlement, we are getting following error

"Account Type M is not defined for document type CO".

In OBA7, account types allowed are for "G/L Account".

Can you please suggest what is to be done?

Regards

Ratna

Hello Chintan,

Thanks for ur reply.

I had already done the same - added account type 'M' to document type 'CO' and could run production order settlement.

Only one thing I could not find out as to why the system is asking for account type 'M'.

Can you please give some hint on this.

Thanks & Regards

Hi,

Account type M is for material, your produciton order has materials - raw material, finished goods, etc.

So for this GL account the Acct type M should be checked.

You can refer SAP std WE & WA for which M is ticked.

So system allows if any accounting documents generated from MM should activated Account type M.

Hello,

Thanks for your reply.

but I what wanted to know was - we are in SAP since last 1.5 years. OBA7 had got account type - GL account ticked for document type 'CO'. Every month we run production order settlement and never had got error for account type 'M' for document type CO.

This is the first time we found such error.

So , I wanted to know what caused the error.

Regards

Ratna

This problem occurs, because on the Material master data, the field Price Control are set to V (moving average).

If you set to S (standard price) this error will be solved.
