This can be easily done by your abaper without the need of configuring a printer.

Is there a particular reason to print to a file?

Yes we can do in ABAP but we need to configure at printer level.

Hi,

It is possible to create "file printers" using the "L" Access Method a script and the parameter

rspo/host_spool/print to call the print.

We use this technique to "print" in PDF files.

I think hes trying to print to a central location defined in AL11 which is not going to work via end user printing.

As Olivier said you can configure a pdf printer or even a print-to-file defined at OS level but this will work at the end user side and won't drop the file in the path defined in AL11

Juan,

The technique we use is not a front-end printing technique : it is used for background jobs but the path is defined in the script, not in AL11.

It is described in this [Note 161516 - Printing into a file or anywhere else in NT|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/161516]
