Hi Experts,

Kindly suggest for an error " Charactertstices used more than once" while printing a COA for an inspection lot,

for which the results are being recorded for two operations 0010 & 0020 having same MICs .

If we record the results for an inspection lot for one operation and donot record the results for another operation , and then

able to take print of COA with out any error.

system gives the error if we record the results for both the operation having same MICs for an lot at the time of COA print.

Kindly provide your inputs and guidance to over come the issue.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Best regards,

Njain

1) Make a duplicate of the MIC and use two separate MIC's, report either one or the other.

or

2) if the material is batch managed, take the result from the batch record instead of the inspection lot. The batch record should always have the latest result.

or

3) Create your own Function Module (FM) for the results origin. Program the FM to get the result you want, i.e. the most recent, or the first one, etc... Add this in config and use it in the COA profile instead of the results origin from the inspection lot choice. Note: If you also use inspection specs from the inspection lot you may also need a FM for that as well.

Dear Expert,

Thanks for your response and reply .

Since client is already useing quality management module for a while, they just now wanted to turn on COA functionality , it would not be feasible to incorporate the changes in inspection plan by assigning two different MICs.

and their materials are also not batch managed . Kindly confirm is it a standard behavior in the system that it doesnot picks the results at the time of COA print if the results are recorded for same MIC in two different operation for an lot.

Kindly confirm the same .

Thanks in advance for your inputs.

I confirm that the COA functionality cannot, by itself, decide which result it is to print when you have the same MIC listed twice in the same inspection lot, even if they are on different operations.

You'll need to use option 3 that I suggested above.
