SAP EM activity ship end

Has anyone used the activity SHPMT_ENDDATE_UPDATE? Tthis is used to mark the shipment end date in SAP ECC from SAP EM. Please let me know if anyone used this standard activity successfully. I found some problem with the FM attached to this activity but am not sure, so i want to verify if anyone used this successfully.

I haven't used that activity but I did a quick search on OSS and found this note: "Note 713289 - Updating locked shipment in R/3 cause the short dump."

When updating Shipment using rule activity in EM, and if shipment is not possible to update (e.g. Shipment is locked.). Short dump occurs in R/3.

If this is what you are referring to then there is a fix for it attached to the note.
