SRM 7.0 - Add custom workflow to Process Schema

Hello -

We are on SRM 7.0 and need to integrate a custom WF solution into Process level schema.

When a PO is ordered and the standard WF templates are triggered (WS4000014, etc.), the custom WF solution (not a single step task but a WF with several steps) must be the last level within the approval process schema (after all approval levels/steps). After custom WF is done, control must return to standard templates to complete WF and get PO to ORDERED status. We are running into an issue where the custom WF is making a PO update which is changing the statuses on the PO (HELD becomes active). When standard templates are resuming processing, the last step in WS40000014 that releases PO is going into ERROR status as a result.

Has anyone done this? Appreciate any input.

Thanks,

Zack

Hi,

You can use Application-Controlled Workflow for your custom workflow template same as SRM 5.0.

But I can use Application-Controlled Workflow only, when I don´t use Process-Controlled Workflow, right?

Hi Zack,

Could you please share the workflow log details. more over WS40000014 template is generic for all business objects ( Such as SC,PO,RFX,Bid,IV). could you please share the business requirement and reason why you have extended the 40000014, Because there would be a alternative solution always people could share with you ,that is power of SDN forums. it is so easy to take a version and change the workflow template according to business requirement in SRM 5.0 because we have different template available for each step which should not affect each others... but there is only one template 40000014 for all the documents.
