Assign "L - Stock item" as default at the "Item Category (Bill of Material)

I'm searhing for a way to assign "L - Stock item" as default at the "Item Category (Bill of Material)" of the components of the service order. Can anybody help me about this?

You should be able to set the item category by default, based on the material type / plant values, thorough configuration at SPRO > PM> Maintenance and service processing > Orders > General data > Set Default values for item categories.

Yasar,

Use customizing transaction OS29, create a new entry called DUMMY and set the material item category to L.

It will be valid for all users who haven't made personnal settings on this point (at transaction screen CS02, menu"setting / Item category)

You can use customer exit CNEX0013 to determine the item category for a component automatically,or use SHD0 to create transaction varaint.consult with your technical team
