Hi,

In Material master maintain Quality Management view and maintain the respective inspection type ex: 01 for Purchase order.

Maintain Quality inspection plan using transaction QP01, maintain Qualitative and Quantative characteristics as per requirement.

You will be maintaing sampling details also in inspection plan. Whenever goods received against Purchase order system will generate an inspection lot automatically based on the inspection plan defined, if there is no plan defined inspection lot will get created with out any inspection plan assigned.Stock will be in Quality inspection stock

Results recording- Once the goods is received you will be recording the results of whatever characteristics you have defined in inspection plan and this can be done using transaction code QE51N.

If the results are within tolerance then the lot can be accepted and this is called usage decision and can be done using transaction code QA11.Once UD is done stock will move from Quality stock to unrestricted.

Hi,

MIC --master inspection charecteristic ( T code Qs21 )

MIC means for which you want to take result Ex on chemical industry Assay ,Purity Ph al this you can cretaes as quantative MIC where you really taking values or you have range to take result. Then their are qualatitive MIC for which you are not taking result but visual observatio you are taking results for EX discription .Colore , appearence

Both type of MIC can be define in same T code QS21 their check box in this transaction quantative & qualatitive.

You need to maintain control indicator in same transaction that you can expore if any help you need you can come back to me .

Once you create MIC you need to creates inspection plan T Code QP01 .In this transaction you can put MIC as per your requirement.

SANIL

Once you create insp plan you need to maintain QM view for material. in QM view inspection set up maintain inspection type 01 for raw material ,04 for GRN from prouction ,03 for inprocess .

Then when you do GRN lot get generated for you have to take result record & usage decision.

Dear Santhosh,

In Quality Management following are the broad level activities need to be conducted :

1) Incoming Inspection : This is for raw materials, or other input materials on which the quality of final product is dependent. (For activating this, in QM material master you need to define '01' inspection type)

2) In process Inspection : This is the inspection in - process meaning in house inspection during the process inside. (For activating this, in QM material master you need to activate '03' inspection type)

3) Final Inspection or out going inspection : This is inspection of final products or finished product. This is to ensure that correct quality product is going to customer. (For activating this, in QM material master you need to activate '04' inspection type)

Apart from this you can do inspections at vendor, predespatch insp, Recurring insp ,competitors sample evaluation etc.

For doing all this in terms of SAP you need to do:

1) Quality Planning : Defining of masters like Master Inspection characteristics, Inspection method, sampling scheme, sampling procedure, catalog selected sets and code groups, then assign all these Masters in Inspection Plan . also assigning QM view to materiel master so that inspections are activated.

2) Quality Inspection : Inspection lot creation , result recording, defect recording and completing the lot by giving user decesion.

3) Quality control : This include raising notification, SPC, using dynamic modification, quality certificates etc.

4) Test equipment management : This includes Calibration of instruments

5) Control in logistics : This include Control in Procurement, Production and sales & distribution

you can get all details of these processes at

Hi,

QM is divided in diffn areas for ex. QM in procurement, production, sales etc.

In procurement, you will procure material from vendors so you can go for insp of them before use of that material.Same way in SAP, you will have activate insp type 01 in material master - QM view - Insp set up and create necessary master data like MIC,Insp plan, SAmpling procedure etc.And inspection lot will be generated at goods receipt.Quality dept will do the insp and record the results and then take the usage decision. After that only stock will move to unrestricted from quality.

Same way it will happen in production and other areas.
