Hello All, We have a situation on our Develepment and QA servers. Every time when a user go to the DEBUG mode (any tranaction), our system is generating a "MESSAGE_TYPE_X" short DUMP. This is happening for all users. Intitially it looks like a GUI issue to me but I am not sure. Does any one have any idea how to correct this error. Belew is the kernal and GUI patch info.
-
We are on SAP GUI: 710, patch level 14
Support Pack level: SAP_ABA 701 0003
Kernal level: 701 patch 55
OS: AIX
Database: Oracle 10G
-
We started to have this issue from the last week (We did not had this issue before). I think this is a known issue for old GUI 6.40 (as per below link) but not sure if this applies to our issue as well as we are on GUI 710, patch 14. Any input will be greately appreciated. We have not made any changes to GUI recently.

PS; Our SAP GUI is not installed on individual desktops/loptops. We access our GUI through Citrix server.

Here is the partial DUMP info:
-
|Error analysis
| Short text of error message:
| Control Framework : Error processing control
|
| Long text of error message:
| Diagnosis
| An error occurred when the system tried to process the commands
| from the Automation Queue on the presentation server.
| There are several possible reasons for this:
| - The installation of the SAP GUI on the presentation server is
| faulty or obsolete.
| - There is an error in the application program
| - There is an error in the SAPGUI or an integrated control
| Procedure
| 1. Make sure that you have imported the appropriate Support
| Package, the current kernel, and GUI patch for the release of your
| system
| 2. Check whether the error occurs locally on one or a few PCs, or
| generally on all PCs. Note whether the error only occurs for some
| users, for example because of a specific Customizing setting.
| If it only occurs locally, this suggests an installation problem
| with the PC. Check the installation; if necessary, reinstall the
| software. In the dump, search for the SY-MSGLI field, since it may
| point to the cause of the error.
| 3. Activate the Automation Trace (in accordance with SAP Note
158985). |
4.Start the transaction and continue until the screen immediately |
before the dump. |
5. From the System -> Utilities menu, choose Autom. Queue, |
Synchronous Processing. |
The status bar of the GUI displays the text: |
"Automation synchron flush mode on" |
6. If you now proceed with the application, the short dump will |
display the ABAP call that caused the error; the Automation Trace |
will contain the error on the presentation server. |
7. If necessary, load the short dump and trace files on to |
| sapservX, so that SAP can analyze them.
-
Information on where terminated |
Termination occurred in the ABAP program "SAPLOLEA" - in "AC_SYSTEM_FLUSH". |
The main program was "RSTPDAMAIN ". |
In the source code you have the termination point in line 29 |
| of the (Include) program "LOLEAU02".
Thanks and regards.

Hi,
Kindly check if this is happening with only one particular user ID or on one particular PC. From the error message looks like SAP GUI issue. If this issue is happening in only one PC or all PCs with same GUI level then reinstall the SAP GUI and update the latest patch.
Regards,
Sharath

Hello, we had the same Dumps on our SAP System. We have one customer using Citrix Server.
In the SAP Note "431163 - Fehlersuche bei Citrix MetaFrame-Problemen"
there is the document "SAP_GUI_710_Best_Practice.pdf".
On site 4 there is the following text
"Citrix Memory Optimization
The memory optimizer changes the starting addresses to avoid paging. Some applications cannot
handle optimization in a dynamic way and fail if function calls point to a fixed memory address. This
might include applications with digitally signed components, applications whose DLLs are protected
by Windows Rights Management, and any application that programmatically checks the DLL after it
has been loaded.
The SAP Graphical User Interface (GUI) is not working properly with the Memory Optimization
Technology build into the Citrix Presentation Server. Some DLLs of the SAP GUI for Windows do
not work after being optimized.
For this reason, Citrix Presentation Server Memory optimization is not supported with SAP GUI for
Windows.
Consequence:
Disable Memory Optimization completely
- or -
Exclude the SAP GUI for Windows installation directory with all subfolders
If you have already used Memory Optimization in combination with SAPGUI, the DLL starting
addresses might be changed already. This can be solved by using the ADSCleaning tool.
After the customer has identified the Citrix servers there the dumps occured, he has installed citrix once more and the dumps are disappeared.
