Steps to setup Solman as SLD ?

Hi Guys,

I setup earlier PI box as SLD. Now we have new requirement to keep SLD on Solman for another customer.

What steps should be different here ? (when we are setting SLD on Solman but not on XI)

Run RZ70 and excuted default selections.

http://<server>:50000/sld => shows SLD is active/running.

Run SLDCUSTAPI tcode and supplied SLDUSER user password.

SAPSLDAPI RFC (T type) RFC created at Solman ABAP stack.

Run Solman_Setup and in Initial configuration when we select 'start a new SLD' then SLD creation process fails at 49% with SLDDUSER authentication error. But the same user with correct password is maintained at Visual admin's SLD data supplier location ( tried to dialog login with SLDDUSER id/password and it works fine).

SLDCHECK fails with error with .SAPSLDAPI program not registered at gateway. RFC ping not possible...connection to SLD java not possible..

Can anyone please provide the basic and essential steps to make Solution Manager as SLD?

Hi Shivaji

SLD service can be setup on any J2EE system - it is installed as default via sapinst (although this sometimes depends on options chosen)

SLD for Solution Manager is setup much the same way - usually though a Solution Manager SLD or Central SLD contains all customer systems and indeed may obtain this directly from data suppliers or via local SLD content

Its should be noted that SLDCHECK - checks the client connection between Solution Manager SLD and Solution Manager SMSY

and SLDDSUSER is used by RZ70 or J2EE SLD Data Supplier to register systems in the SLD - so it looks like you have problems with both users and connections

Both users must be assigned to required group, containing the correct role and corresponding rights

- please see SLD Post Installation Guide at for details

Best wishes

Hi Shivaji,

I assume that you are discussing the possibility of having a local SLD on the Solution Manager system.

Local SLD on the Solution Manager system should be created by default when you install the Solution Manager 7.0 system if you have selected the option "Register in Local SLD" while installing the system. Now we assume that you have done so,

What you need now are the steps to configure the SLD which are available in the attached guide.

Hope that this resolves your query.
