Installation of Solution Manager: Unable to set owner

When installing Solution Manager 7.0 I get the follwing error

An error occurred while processing option SAP Solution Manager 7.0 EhP1 > SAP Systems > MaxDB > Central System > Central System( Last error reported by the step :Unable to set owner /tmp/sapinst_instdir/SOLMAN/SYSTEM/ADA/CENTRAL/AS/sap.com.smd.agent.sar for sapinst.).*

You can now:

Choose Retry to repeat the current step.

Choose

View Log to get more information about the error.

Stop the option and continue with it later.

Log files are written to /tmp/sapinst_instdir/SOLMAN/SYSTEM/ADA/CENTRAL/AS.

Before this I got

ERROR 2010-03-31 17:52:07.41 [syuxcgroup.cpp:250]

CSyGroupImpl::CSyGroupImpl(sapinst, , bool bCreate)

lib=syslib module=syslib

FSL-01027 Account group="sapinst" does not exist.

I entered a group sapinst without knowing why - but then I came one step further.

Maybe I should have understood more about the missing group since it might be connected with this error.

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Henrik,

Give 777 permission on /tmp and make sure you have sufficient space on this file system.

Best Luck,

Hi Digesh,

thanks, but: I think I already have 777 for tmp and all subfolders.

I tried to set this using Dolphin in superuser mode - How can I definitely check this?

My filesystem should have some spare space. This is what I get from df:

/dev/sda2 20641788 8536744 11056404 44% /

I just restarted sapinst with user root and everythings seems to work fine now.

Sorry for the confusion!
