Hi,

R/3 Installation fail in CDINSTCURRENTUSERRIGHTS_NT_IND

We are currently in the upgrade project and in the phase of creating

a upgrade environment 4.6c system for upgrade.

The test environment R/3 Installation is as follows:

-

Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition ( SP2 )

R/3 4.6C

SQL Server 2000 SP4 (8.00.2039)

Domain Installation

When we perform the SAP Installation using Kernel DVD. (/NT/setup.bat)

We are getting the following error as follows:

-

The error says that " errno: 2453: This domains domain controller

could not be found".

But actually, the domain controller is very much from this system.

I had searched for possible reasons for this error. But could not find

relevant notes or any other information.

Hence appreciate feedback from those who had faced similiar issue or

who have knowledge about this issue.

Thanks & Best Regards

Raghunahth L

PS:

We are performing the Installation as the Administrator with the "Domain Admins" rights.

It seems there's something wrong with the domain installation, the system can't find its domain controller.

Be aware that systems are only supported on english Windows versions. In case of Windows 2003 you have the option of installing a different language (MUI) on top but the underlying OS should be english.

Hi All,

Sorry for the late reply.

For knowledge sharing purposes, I share the final outcome with the community.

Actually, we could not trace what actually the error is. But we got the following information

from the Customer about the existing Operating System.

It seems originally the system was installed with Windows Server 2008 and as per our requirement of the

upgrade we required Windows Server 2003. So instead of a Fresh reinstall of OS, it seems they performed a downgrade.

And we concluded that must be the issue, why Domain Installation was not possible.

Anyhow as our final specification of the system is Windows Server 2008 (Domain Installation) / SQL Server 2008.

Initially we carried out with local installation, then did a upgrade from 4.6C to ERP 6.0. After that we did a system copy

into Windows Server 2008 (Domain Installation) / SQL Server 2008.

It worked out well without any issues.

Since Markus views about the issues was a close call, I award him with solved problem Points.

Thanks a lot for everyone for your inputs.

Best Regards

Hi,

CDINSTCURRENTUSERRIGHTS_NT_IND

Under Which User You are performing Installation ? If your are performing Domain Installation, then use Domain Administrator User for the Installation Process.

Hi,

Thanks a lot for your reply and helping me solve this issue.

We had also tried as Domain Administrator user and

we are getting the same error.

for ex: if domain name is ABCD

We logged into the system as follows

-

User name u21D2 Administrator

Password u21D2 ******

Logon Destination u21D2 ABCD

-

after loggin in we had checked using

whoami

it throws

ABCD\Administrator

properly..

I had also checked the priviliges for the administrator.

I could see that ABCD\Domain Admins rights is assigned.

Still we are getting this error.

Please let me know whether the above login procedure has any issues.

Thanks & Best Regards
