Please try the following steps -

1. set permission 777 in EPS and in folder

2. set permission 777 in .ATT and .PAT files

3. check archive log. it should not be full. ( i think it is not full but still check)

4. run database optimization statistics through DB13. once it will complete then start applying the patch

Dear Koushikda,

Thanks for your reply.

I have checked the free space 4Gb is available in oraarch directory.

Permission is not the problem as detailed earlier.

Ankur I think you have tested with all the possibilities that the experts have suggested..Best approach would be raise a post to SAP regarding your problem.I think SAPKE60030 patch may be corrupt & that's why you are not able to proceed. As u have mentioned earlier in the thread that you have imported all other SAP components & not able to import only SAP_HR so better to discuss with SAP..

Hello Ankur, I am on same page with Joydeep - it would be good if you raise a message with SAP.

Ankur all of us has given all the possible comments to resolve this issue but still no solution..I hope you rasied your comments to SAP.Please let us all know after SAP solved your issue.Best of luck..

Ankur you can try this if your problem is still not solved.

1.Please check the space of /usr/sap/trans/tmp.Try to give space to this directory as much as possible.

2.Check whether data & cofiles are generating for the package SAPKE60030.(Check in AL11)

After checking this run the import again through tcode spam.while performing import if you find any object locked then release that.

Best of luck.

Dear All,

Thanks for your valuable cooperation solving this update issue.

tp, R3trans and SAPCAR updated

removed all files from EPS/in

extracted all the HR patches

given more space in usr/sap/trans directory

Ran Check and update optimizer statistics

Cleaned up offline redolog files

Cleaned up usr/sap/trans/tmp

Cleaned up usr/sap/trans/log

and released all the unreleased HR related requests

Finally all the HR packages updated.

Thanks for all.

Ankur,

I would suggest you to look at the slog, alog and ulog under the trans directory for more details.

Beside i would check database alert log and the tablespace for errors.

Even the tp and R3trans with the lower release can cause such issue.

Hi Ankur,

With reference to ora- error that you found during dissemble phase i.e. ORA-03114: not connected to ORACLE.,

It might be possible it is a network issue - Refer to SNOTE - Note 534729 - Oracle errors due to network problems

Also , you may work with your DB admin to check the DB time out parameter values.

Hello Ankur, Support pack process is getting stuck in Diassemble process. it means either the patch file is corrupted or there is permission issue with that file.

I would like you to download fresh file extract it and have that .PAT and .ATT in EPS/in.

Can you check and revert back ?

Hi Amber Can you please explain what you mean by permission issue??Ankur has already imported SAP_ABA,SAP_BASIS & so on..He did not find any permission issue so it would be great if you can explain the permission issue.

Sachin, Permission issue corresponds to this particular HR patch(.ATT and .PAT file)

Adiing to that particular patch can be corrupted due to which disassemble is not happening succesfully.

Diassemble does nothing but extracting that .PAT files into 2 components data file and cofiles

which are later used for patching the system internally by SPAM transaction.

In both the cases which i stated above 1.permission 2.corrupted patch - the diassemble will not happen as it was supposed to.

Revert if you still have doubts.

Dear Amber

I have checked in os level and found cofile and data files are there. I am working on AIX/Oracle and permission 777 for sidadm:sapsys on data and cofiles.

see when I am imporing in background it is showing disassemble phase

But when trying through dialog it shows "tp user check ok" and continues ...........

Thanks.

Hi Amber,

One more thing 2076 MB out of 5000MB space available in trans.

Please let me know if there is a need of more free space to update sap_hr.

It always hangs in "tp user check ok" in frontend.

Thanks

Ankur

Hello Ankur, Did you tired the second option that is downloading the file fresh from service market place using download manager ? could you try and come back.

Also as you said you have already started that patching - say in background can you goto logs in SPAM tcode that will show you the stages which ahve already completed during sp implementation process. If it is stuck at dissamble process or error out , it means the component which is in process is having issues.

Hi Ankur,

Hope you are applying the Support Pack through the user DDIC or a replica of DDIC. Also can you check the permissions of .ATT and .PAT files whether they have full permissions or not?

Have a look at this --

ERROR: uncaught internal error: ORA-03114: not connected to ORACLE

Verify the database connectivity using the command:

r3trans -d

Let us know the findings of the things mentioned.

Dear All,

I have downloaded Hr Packeges from Market Place again and tried to do the same again.

I have checked R3trans -d finishes with return code 0000.

Same problem persists.

Thanks

Have you checked the permissions of .ATT and .PAT files?

Where's the latest SLOG contents?

Have you checked the permissions of .ATT and .PAT files?

What about the reply of this?

Sourabh I think the permissions are already 666 but still Ankur please check the permissions :

SAPCAR -tvf "File name".

One thing I am not able to understand if Ankur has any problem with tp,space or any file permission how is it possible that he is able to import SAP_BASIS,SAP_ABA & so on??As per his thread he is getting the problem only when he is importing SAP_HR Packages..

Former Member

That's strange problem indeed Sachin. And for that reason only I am asking to check permissions for that particular .ATT and .PAT files of SAP_HR package..

Hello Ankur, Here is some issue.

I checked the same patches in my ECC system - those patches are already applied.

I checked the patch SAP_HR - SAPKE60029, the prerequisite patches are - SAP_AP(SAPKNA7011) + SAP_BW(SAPKW70015) + SAP_HR(SAPKE60028) and are applied.

have you applied this component SAP_BW(SAPKW70015) ?

I trying to find out SAP note if this error comes in known problems with support packs.
