Hi,
Check that tp process exists at operating system level.
To check that the import is progressing, you can monitor the
usr/sap/trans/log and usr/sap/trans/tmp folder.
If they are being continously updated then the import is still progress
ings and you must wait for a return code. You can also check the
SLOG to see what step it is currently processing.
You need to check the latest alog, ulog and slog.
Another cause of failure during import can be the use of out of date transport tools. Please ensure you are using the latest tp and R3trans available for your release from the service marketplace.
What step is SPAM showing the import is at?
Check the SLOG to see if it is filling with entries of:
warning file ...... is already in use, waiting 30 seconds
if its the SAPKK<package name>.<sid> file then this is a text file that can be opened and will contain the number of the tp process that created this semaphore file. If this process does not exist at o/s level but the SAPKK... file still remains in user/sap/trnas/tmp then it will prevent the import from continuing and the SLOG will just show repeated entries of warning .. is in use.
If you find that the SAPKK file does contain a process id that is longer alive on operating system level, you need to stop the import through spam. Rename the SAPKK file to OLD_SAPKK.. before repating the import through SPAM. A new SAPKK... file will be created when the import is started again which will contain the process id of the current tp process that is currently working at operating system level. Then hte slog messages should no longer appear and the import should proceed.
Please update with the latest entries in the logs and the import phase is issues persist and the above does not match your situation.

Paul

Hello Sachin,
Check the SLOG file, i doubt the import might hanged due to some warnings/errors in the tp log file. if yes take actions accordingly.
Also verify if R3trans and tp are active at OS level ? if yes then check whether the patch log file is increasing in the ...trans/tmp directory ?
Best Regards

Hi SAchin,
Pls updated R3trans and TP with latest version as well as update the statistic .
Once you done with both activity , your patching activity should work normally.
Thanks
Anil

Hi Sachin,
Check the following--
-Is it generating new SLOG and ALOG files continuously in the directory /usr/sap/trans/log?
-Check whether there are enough number of background work processes available (minimum should be 2)?
-Check there's enough space available in tablespaces and the directory /usr/sap//trans/temp?
-Check whether your transport tool is working fine?

Hi,
Please check what is the message in Slog file and paste it here. Check if there is sufficient space in database and log files (transaction log file incase of sql or archive log file incase of oracle)
Also, check the staus of the work process in SM50

Sharath
