u2022Setup time for two or more production orders

Dear Experts

I have scenario

I am using PPDS

In the production order we have setup time for ex 8hrs

during scheduling there are many orders in same time frame , meaning

Order A start with setup time 8 hrs , once the order A completed , Order B is started , but the system must skip the setup time for order B and further orders ,

what i understand is we can use u2022Setup Matrix Generation in APO

Did i am correct , if yes can some one explain in simple steps , so i can have some clear idea

to generate Rapid matrix

Hello Raj,

There are 2 kind of setup matrix.

1.generated setup matrix, which is used in complex scenarios,where youe products are classifies and you want to use the characteristics for setu up time calculation (like color --> blue-blue 0, blue to red 10, red-blue-20, red-red 0...etc) for this there are a sequence of steps performed to generate this matrices. The steps are under APO --> master data --> Appli specific masterdata --> ppds --> setup matrix --> generated matrix.

2.is the simple matrix, where you control the setup time at setup group levels, here you neeed to just create setup groups and maintain the matrix with the transition times (these setup groups can be also created in R/3 and CIFed, along with assignment to

the routing operations).

Actually i have scenario

Many products like say

Product -1

Product -2

... unitl product 45

the set up time for those 45 products are differnet , like say 10 hrs to 200 hrs

but there the set up time will change according to the products , like say after product 1 to product 5 the set up time is 10 hrs

where as the set up time for product 5 to product 23 may be 45 hrs

so there is a big matrix , what i understand is we need to create a charecteristics A and enter the products as values

and generate the rapid matrix with sucessor and predecessor

, just wonder is that the correct way of defining my requirement

and also i am not clear how does PPDS handle this scenario

In my company for some production order status some are having "errors in cost calculation" ie "cser" .how to deal these kind of errors.
