Hi,

Once you started the system after kernel upgrade.

Check the date of log file sapcpe.log , check whether this log file has been updated or not .

Becuase every start command to SAP will execute the command SAPCPE which will syncronise the binary with 2 different

location. if there is any difference in kernel it will overwtite the old kernel with new one.

Check the log file SAPCPE.log has been updated or not , if yes , then pls check the error in the log file and share the same on the forum.

Thanks

Anil

SAPCPE.log can be found in your work director, so /usr/sap/<SID>/Dxx/work.

Thanks,

Mohsin,

Can you explain step by step what you did for the kernel upgrade ? Also do you have ASCS running separately or everything is on one box ?

Thanks,

You never answered if you have replaced the kernel on /sapmnt/<sid>/exe if you have done it in any other location sapcpe will not copy the kernel into the required directories causing this problem

Hello,

from the log that you pasted :

hared lib "dw_xml.so" version 185 <-> kernel version 236

shared lib "dw_xtc.so" version 185 <-> kernel version 236

shared lib "dw_stl.so" version 185 <-> kernel version 236

shared lib "dw_gui.so" version 185 <-> kernel version 236

shared lib "dw_mdm.so" version 185 <-> kernel version 236

    • DP_FATAL_ERROR => Version mismatch of dw shared libraries detected.

I think somehow the DW binaries have not been overwritten properly.

Do one thing, download the latest disp+work package from Service Marketplace, uncar it and copy it to your kernel directory.

Make sure you are following the correct procedure, specifically bringing down your instance, stopping all services etc.

Best Regards

mohsin m, From the log it shows that there is mismatch in kernel files.

Could you please let us know your current kernel level and target kernel level ? also let me know the files you downloaded for kernel upgrade. like Unicode/non unicode , db dependent and dbindependent files.

I think it is from release 700 patch level 185 to release 700 patch level 236.

Hi Mohsin,

Are you using SAPCPE program in start profile? It seems that SAPCPE program is copying old kernel libraries/executables from /sapmnt/SID/exe to /usr/sap/SID/SYS/exe. Copy the new kernel files at both the locations.

Please also check the values of DIR_EXCUTABLE and DIR_LIBRARY variables.

Hi Moshin,

Before copying the new kernel executables in /sapmnt/SID/exe execute this command slibclean.

Hope this will solve your problem and shutdown the system do ipc clean (check for exact command) and restart the system.
