Enable log for single table

HI,

We want enable logging for one table?

If we set the parameter rec/client, it will log other tables also.

Is there any other way to enable log single table?

Thanks,

Nagarjun

Hello,

Like you said correctly when you activate parameter rec/client table changes for a lot of tables will be logged.

To have an idea how many tables will be logged use transaction SCU3 and use the "List of logged tables" button.

This will be an enormous list, all these changes are logged in table DBTABLOG which can overflow.

In SAP however you can also use change documents in stead of table logging.

You can create your own Change Documents for you own set of tables which are not logged for the moment.

This can be done via tcode SCDO, I recommend you read the SAP online help for this, this explains the process very well.

[http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/c7/69bccff36611d3a6510000e835363f/content.htm|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/c7/69bccff36611d3a6510000e835363f/content.htm]

Furthermore the help also explains how you can read the changes (from tables CDHDR and CDPOS), how change docs can be archived, ...

Success.
