PI 7.1 EHP1 upgrade error

Hello,

Source system details: NW 7.1, Win, SQL ABAP+JAVA , upgrading to EHP1 using enhancement pack installer

I am at roadmap phase "Downtime" , and JAVA deployment in progress

START_SCS_DEPL

An error has occurred during the execution of the START_SCS_DEPL phase.

Could not start AS Java instance with name SCS and number 00 of the standard system. Could not execute operating system process for action wait for started on instance 00. Process ID is 9, process name is sapcontrol. Return code condition success evaluated to false for process sapcontrol for action wait for started.

You can find more information in the log file G:\EHPI\java\log\START_SCS_DEPL_TSP_02.LOG.

Use the information provided to troubleshoot the problem. An SAP Note may provide a solution to this problem. Hi,

Have you tried to start to start system manually ?

Also, check troubleshooting guide in which steps are mentioned that you need to check when system does not come up.

The errors say that its not able to start the instance! Did you check the suggested file START_SCS_DEPL_TSP_02.LOG for the pionter? Please paste the excerpt here.
