Strategy profile setting considered during CTP with block planning

Hi,

Which stratgy profile setting will be considered when planned orders created by CTP for block planned resource.

1. There are strategy setting in CTP heuristic itself

2. In global parameters for PPDS there is strategy profile for CTP.

3. In global parameteters there is strategy profile for interactive planning.

Out of above which strategy profile system considers?

Hi Datta,

I am talking about CTP(capable to promise) and not CTM. In genral in PPDS heuristics strategy setting take precedence over global parameters. In release 5.0 and higher strategy is included in heuristic itself.

Problem is I want to confirm specificaly regarding CTP.

Hi,

We have set SAP_BCTP as strategy setting in global parameters for PPDS. In SAP_CTP heuristic which we are using as product heuristic strategy setting is infinite. While in global parameters for PPDS we maintained stretegy find slot for interactive planning.

My question is which strategy profile setting is used while creation of planned orders for sales order with CTP.

What should be my resource settings to have bucket oriented finite planning.

I mean It should allow orders to be scheduled in block considering total capacity of block.

Hi Santish,

Startegy settings in CTM heuristics transaction will take predence over the values of the same parameters ( if availble) in IMG ( i.e. configuration).

This rule applies in general to other settings also.

FOr example, safety days setting changed interactively will take precedence over the settings in location product master.
