ALV printing - without EP

Hi,

is possible to configure web dynpro alv to print without enterprise portal? We have fully working ADS on our solution manager.

Possible for sure....You can configure your alv for pdf export and then you can print it as you wish...

But direct print i have no clues....

There is button labellled Print version in my ALV toolbar. If I click this button I get:

Print version Communication Failure: RFC destination SALV_WD_EXPORT_PDF does not exist.

If i create RFC destination SALV_WD_EXPORT_PDF in SM59 same as ADS RFC destination i get:

Print version Communication Failure: Illegal destination type 'G'.

Where is problem?

A little look at the near future: In NetWeaver 7.02 we added the option to display ALV as Crystal Reports (requiring only the free Crystal Reports viewer on the client side). You can then print or save as PDF from within Crystal Reports. This offers a light weight alternative (since no Portal, BI, Java, or ADS is required) for formatted printing of the entire ALV contents via the client side.
