Hello,
In dev_w0 I can see a number of occurances of -
ERROR service 'sapmsQW2' unknown
I checked my services file and there is no such entry as sapmsQW2.
Why is this entry in the workprocess trace adn how do I solve this error?

Hi,
Check the Listner ,if Listner is not runnig, start the Listner first
lsnrctl status
lsnrctl start
then R3trans -d
if the value is 0000
then start the SAP server.

Do you have a QW2 system?... Seems like somehow system is trying to call QW2 and services file is not maintained, maybe an RFC?
Is there any additional info in dev_w0 or SM21?
Regards
Juan

Hello Niraj,
I have seen this Note.
This Note suggests that I add the entry sapmsQW2 in my services file.
But I do not want to add it in my services, because it is an incorrect service name.
Instead, I want to find the program/function that is calling this service name and correct that entry in the program/function.
I hope that is clear.
No, there is no such system as QW2.
Did you ever had one?... this could be because and old system sid was hardcoded in some code. this can become very tedious task
I agree with the suggestion above you might want to increase the trace level to see if that gives you any additional hints... Also is this a periodic issue on your trace or happens randomly?
Regards
Juan
Hi Gautam,
Please check the serevr port correctly maintained or not. :
Basis administrator can modify this setting, you should check it in the transaction SMICM (Goto -> Parameters -> Display). You can also have a look into your services file on your server. C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\services
Hope it helps
Regards
Arun
