Activity type price and salary cost for the resources

Hi,

I am working for a construction project and the senario is as below.

We are proposing to use different activity type price for resources and payroll for the resources for the project resoucres.

Every week confirmation will takes place using CATS and the actual cost is getting posted to the project wrt to the

activity types used.

If we see any reports, actual cost is appearing in the project.

Month end, salary is also getting posted to the Project for the resources worked.

Practically, Actual cost again booked to the project again Reports shows, both activity type confirmation +salary actual cost.

We would like to have only actual cost as salary only should appeare in the project at the month end and management wants to see the actual cost incurred through activity types every week.

Please advise the solution on activity revaluation/how to nullify the activity type prices once we run the salary.

Regards,

N.Raju

Salary should not be posted to the Project

Salary is the primary cost which should go to the cost centre

From the cost centre the secondary posting (or internal allocation) of the primary cost is done using the CATS transaction based on the activity pricing for the combination of activyt and cost centre.

Our senario is, if the resources are working on Project, salary cost should update on the project WBS Element when they running the payrole. Each resources will work in a month for more than 1 project. If is not working on project, cost should be posted to cost centers.

Meantime, there will be a avearge rate in activity type wherein management wants to see the approximate cost every 15 days once.

We have achievewed this using assesment cycle month end activity to remove the secondary cost so exact salary cost will be taken for analysis.

I am closing this thread..
