Project System for Property developer

Former Member

Hai Gurus,

I have one doubt.

1. MY client is property Developer, That is they get the land and plan

for construction of houses or complex based on the requirement.

2. They will buy all the construction materials like cement/sand/wood

paints etc.

3. Then they will give material to sub contractor for developing the building and they will

pay for the job work.

If it is so whether Project System to be implemented along with other module

like FICO/MM/SD/CRM or we can manage without PS.

Waiting for your positive feed back.

Regards,

sc

Using PS in this scenario will provide you with following benefits:

1. Progress of sub contractor can be monitored based on daily confirmation of activities.

2. Since, material is provided to sub contractor, PS can help you in material reconciliation.

3. Cost planning, Budgeting, Timeline planning, Execution, Project analysis etc will be easier as you will have a structured project.

and many more.

You can read more on PS module to get detailed information and then decide on what functions you want in the system.

Dear SC,

If your client is implemented the SAP all other modules, this modules will not give you the Project structure.

If you use Project Systems, you can drive the this project through Project system. And can have control on daily activities.

And even you can show the project related procurement ( materials) and Accounts( costs) project wise if you r client will go for multiple projects.

But if you want to plan and schedule your project activities you should go for the Project system Module

Please read SAP help.

SAP PS is a project management tool - if your client is doing project management then obviously they could use PS. Note in any SAP implementation PS is not a mandatory module as the client may choose to use other project management tools like MS Project, Primavera, Timeline etc

Hai virendra pal,

Thanks for your reply.

The client is already using Primevera, but my doubt is how planning and costing can

be done without PS, if more projects are taking place at same time.

waiting for your positive reply.

If you are using Primavera why can't you use that for planning costing etc - or integrate it with PS using only WBS structures.

Basically this is a project decision and nothing to with a PS issue.
