Hi all
Is there any relationship between catalog item and gl account product category
if yes how can check those relationship and how to maintain in system
please reply at the earliest

Hi,
All Catalog Items should be assigned to a Product Category, we use UNSPSC codes for Product Categories as these codes are in common use.
In IMG configuration
SRM Server > Cross Application Basic Settings > Account Assignment > Define G/L Account for Product Category and Account Assignment category
This part of the IMG is used to assign a GL code to all product categories dependent upon the Account assignment type. You can read the help files for this in IMG. In our system, SRM 550 these changes are client specific and cannot be transported.
Table BBP_DET_ACCOUNT holds the values.
A word of caution > once a GL is assigned to a Product category and documents have been created it is virtually impossible to change the GL to a different one. Even though the IMG will allow you to change the GL the problems that this gives with existing open documents can be extremely difficult to overcome.
Has anyone experience in changing GL to Product category link in BBP_DET_ACCOUNT and how to overcome the historical document problems this creates?
