Configtool is very slow; is there a file I can edit at the OS level

My configtool is very slow and I need to change some parameters. However it takes several minutes to repaint the screen. Is there a configuration file at the OS level where I can update values for the configtool such as properties sheet?

Thanks

Are you using config tool from the server directly or over VNC or X-windows ?? That may be an issue.

Hi Weyland,

Check your sevvr directory has nough space or not.

This might cause due to database space problem.

Hi Weyland,

No matter what tool you use the paraemeter changes for J2EE are stored in the Database rather than in a profile file on OS level (as in ABAP). There are various methods for updating parameters (Config tool, Visual Admin, Telnet tool and /NWA) however all changes are made in the database so you will not be able to edit a file.

I would be looking into why the Config tool is taking so long to update the screen as the root of the issue rather than using another tool.

Hope this helps

You need find why you configtool is very slow .... Are you have memory issue or it's JVM problem ?

Config tool gives parameters from DB, are your DB works fine ? Your DB are ? REgards.

Hi,

Your Database must be slow so that the config tool is also slow.

Check the database and OS level RAM.

Thanks,
