Upgrade or re-implement DP?

Hi,

I am on version 4.1 and using DP. I want to update the version and have 2 questions:

1. Wich version do you recommend me, the 5.1 or the 7.0?

2. Is there any way that I can upgrade my Demand Plannig configuration of the 4.1 version to the new one? or is it better to re-implement it in the new version?

Hi LCD777,

I suggest you can go with SCM 7.0 and also you can

implement new version rather than upgrading it.

Because during upgrade, you may have to face many

issues in terms of support packs, configurations etc.,

which you can avoid if you go for 7.0 directly

It depends a lot on what is your current DP functionality. Pls give us a brief overview on what is implemented currently with APO DP 4.1

I´ve got 40 key figures, 1 POS, 2 PA and 15 PBs with an average of 3 DVs.

The POS has 10 characteristics.

Hi,

Re-implement, You can reduced the characteristics in the POS. You can also re-look at the total planning book and data views required from business process.
