Hello Folks,
Can anyone tell me the what will be the exact job of an a xi consultant in support period of a project.?
I mean what will be his roles n responsibilities in the support work of a project.
Kindly give me the information.

Hello,
During the support period , there can be issues in XI (like Performance or huge messages getting stuck in queues ) in the Production environment which an XI Consultant needs to resolve in the Interfaces.
There can also be changes to the existing Interfaces , so which needs a rework in the Development.

Hi,
How to resolve message struck in queues. What could be the possible reason for it.
one of the possible reason for message stuck in queues is the size of data (if its huge, at times in PROD it happens).
you need to keep monitoring the queues for knowing this (TCODE SMQR and SXMB_ADM ).The resolution would be to delete the stuck up entries in SMQ1 or SMQ2 manually and resending the msg.
what are the reasons for the change of interfaces
,
They may be based on business requirement by client,or to improve processing time ,performance ,upgrades etc.
STATUS REPORT ON PERFORMACE
Once in PROD environment , you may be required to send statics like .. how much data go transmitted? what where the issues faced say in a month.what is the load? etc ..again it depends on what status business /client requires.

To ensure successful end to end transaction by proactive monitoring....using SXI_MONITOR,SMQ1,SMQ2,IDX5,SM59,SM58......in RWB, channel monitoring,msg monitoring and sometime performance monitoring......to resolve both technical and business(mostly mapping and others) errors...... sometimes there will be change in business logic requested by client....then you have to change in scenarios accordingly usinf DEV and then transport it to PROD via QUA.....

Hi,
The support projects mainly have the work of closly monitoring the channels and some times evaluating the performance.You may be required to send some status report on performance.
Some of your chief task may be like monitoring the queue SMQ1, SMQ2.
And checking in SXMB_MONI if at scheduled times ..files/data is getting processed properly or not .. you need to check the sender and receiver channels.
You also required to check the time taken for processing and solve any issues if there is any problem due to data in the interfaces.

STATUS REPORT ON PERFORMACE
You or your team was assigned some work....how efficiently you did it....did you overshoot the time allocated....did you overshoot other resources....did you provide optimum solution...if it needs to be in regards to the technical aspect then how was the performance of the interfaces..what was the impact of scenarios on server (load factor)....all these make up the Status Report.
