/sapmnt/<SID> grows rapidly

Hi,

My /sapmnt/<SID> filesystem grows rapidly. I already increased the size but then, its threatening to reach 100% again. I checked the file inside and I found exe, global and profile directories. Global seemed to be increasing rapidly. Can I erase the file inside it? If yes, any hints on what should be erased and what should be retained?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Also check the following:

->> System Trace is on ? Refer SAP Note [79187|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/79187].

->> Existence of Core File at /usr/sap/SID/<instance>/work location ? Refer SAP Note [39261|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/39261].

->> Old data in the transport directory /usr/sap/trans. Refer SAP Note [7224|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/7224].

->> Also check weather the Wrong Deletion Date is set in the generated spool requests in your SAP system. If it is the case, then SAP_REORG_SPOOL job will not delete spool requests whose retention period is elapsed. Please Implement SAP Note [1422843|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1422843] to deal with it.

Please refer [SAP Note 16513 - File system is full - what do I do?|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/16513] and other relative SAP Notes to get more information.

Hi,

Generally, sapmnt is being full by the GLOBAL folder, Is sap standard job SAP_REORG* is running as a back ground job?

1. You need to delete old batch jobs by using RSBTCDEL2 for 000 client ( select finished and cancelled)

2. If spool jobs are also placing , you need to run RSPO1041

3. If you have old kernels placed in the exe directory, place them in another location

4. Check if there is any ARCHIVING process files are being placed

5. You can further drill down in the global folder and troubleshoot based upon the highet occupants

Thanks and regards
