Hello,

My source and target are the same on the OS and the DB side, however my source is EHP4 while my target is SAP ECC 6.0.

Do I need to upgrade my target to EHP4?

Thanks

Osama

Hi,

You need to update the kernel of the target because ECC6 EHP4 uses kernel 7.01.

Hi Olivier,

The system copy has finished fine, the data base is up and running with the new sid , the application also is up and running. r3tran -d =000.

Upgrade the krenel to 7.1 however when i tried to log in through the GUI , I received the following error :

SAP-Basis System: Run-time error "DBIF_DSQL2_OBJ_UNKNOWN " occurred.

Thanks

Hi,

I spoke about kernel 7.01 not kernel 7.1 !

These 2 beasts are completely different...

Hello Olivier,

That was just a typo, 7.01 it is. No I have a EHP4 up and running.

Thanks a million

Hi,

Apart from what Joe has advised you on, you do realise you are deleting all the sapdata's etc on the target system.

So your taget system will be a a database installation from the export dump....

https://websmp208.sap-ag.de/erp-inst => SAP ERP6.0 => Installation => System copy for NW2004s

No need to upgrade SAP release first.

The changes of EHP4 are contained in database tables, so they will come with the systemcopy.

You will however have to upgrade SAP kernel from 7.00 to 7.01 manually.
