Message Control

Running EBP 4 on SRM server 3 with Highest Support pack SAPKU40004.

This query is around message control in the <b>SHOP</b> transaction. By default, the system will <i>warn</i> users where for example, a Cost Centre is blocked or perhaps does not exist at all. The Message class/number typically issued is BBP_PD / 047, which is a very generic message.

I have used the options in the IMG, Influence Message Control but these are either too generic or too specific. I set the message to ERROR which works fine for some cases but not so well for others.

My question is : is the next step to develop a BADI, perhaps BBP_DOC_CHECK_BADI to code for particular scenarios? Or are there other configuration options I can adopt that provide better control over these messages?
