Hi,

I want to restore a backup of a database to a different folder location (Drive Y). Can anyone let me know what is the correct syntax?

Hi Eida,

Your question is little confusing. Do you want to say that you would like to change the destination to store the backup to a different location than it is now?

If yes, then set the parameter backup_root_dir in the file init<SID>.sap.

You need to edit the *.aft or *.afd (depending on the backup type) with the changes to the location of the datafiles.

I have another problem with the backup. The backup log that needed for the restore has been deleted by the "clean-up" log that I've set in DB13. How can I recover this file from the tape?
