Hi, Pls xplain in which scenario we should use early inspection? what are the settings req for the same. pls describe.

Hi,

In early inspection lot just go in material master MM02QM viewInspection set up of inspection type 04 their is option Ccontrol inspection lot in that you will find Early lot craeted for order item.if u choose this option then while releasing the order lot with origin 04 get generated.

dear sanil, in that case (if early inspection with 04) what is the difference between 03 and 04 inspection types? is both are same?

Hi,

Inspection type 03 is inprocess inspection. This is inspection during process .In process lot no stock posting happens.Only you can takey result record & UD .

03 lots use the receipe or routing for their information,. They are not stock relevant. They can use all inspection point functionality. They do not require a batch number assignment if using batch management.

04 lots use inspection plans (and/or material specs) for their information. They are stock relevant. Tese requrie a batch number prior to UD if using batch management.

Early inspection lots are used sometimes in place of 03 lots. You can set up one or more operations for in-process testing and then have a final operation for finshed product testing.

thanks, pls advise my below understanding is correct. with 04 early insp functionality when we release the prod order it will generate insp lot, then we can do results recording and do ud, so after actual gr, there will be no insp lot generated. so we can use o4 with early inspection functionality in place of 03 insp type. pls advise.

Hi, observed that 04 insp type also as not stock relevant at the time of UD. IS THERE ANY WAY TO MAKE 04 WITH EARLY INSP RELEVANT TO STOCK?

If you haven't done the GR yet it wouldn't be stock relevant. You haven't received any stock yet so how could it?
