Why SMD agent on ABAP only?

OK. I don't get it. Why install SMD Agent on ABAP only systems???

Isn't SMD Agent used primarily for Java???

I have 37 systems of which only 8 have a java component. If I install SMD Agent everywhere I'll

need a much bigger SolMan server!!!

What is SAP policy on SolMan 7 Enh 1 OS/DB migration???

Can I migrate from this little Intel Linux box to a serious AIX LPAR?

Will SAP give me a migration key???

About the migration, you can migrate without problems. You'll need study the following process "Heterogeneous system copy".

There's a component that checks just this kind of problems related with migration. BC-INS-MIG.

Hi,

SMD agent is used for Java also. SMD agent need to be installed on every virtual server(host).

if 37 systems in your landscape are in different virtual host and you want all the system to be part of RCA then, SMD agent need to be installed on all 37 hosts.

About Migration, I am not sure to comment on it.
