Connectivity Issue: SAP GUI 7.10 (Patch 16) and Citrix Access Gateway

Hi ,

I have problem connecting to SAP boxes outside my office network using Citrix Access Gateway

I'm able to ping the SAP servers that am trying to connect. However I cannot access the same from SAP Logon.

I get the following error.

Partner 'XXXX:sapdp' not reached

Error No 10035

Error Text - WSAEWOULDBLOCK: Resource Temporary Unavailable

Tried the following from some posts on SDN but could not resolve this as I could not find the exact setup (windows 7, Citrix, GUI 7.10) anywhere.

Updated hosts file with the Server IP

Updated services file with tcp port entry

Switched off the Firewall

Version:

SAP GUI 7.10 Patch Level 16.

OS - Windows 7 32 bit

Citrix Acces Gateway 4.5.8.121

P.S. I also tried to connect with a Virtual M/c that has Windows XP. I have the same error there too.

Not using SAPgui via Citrix, so I can just give some general comments for troubleshooting. A good starting point is OSS note [431163 - Troubleshooting Citrix Metaframe Issues|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/431163] (see especially the attached PDF).

Check also OSS note [138869 - SAP GUI on Windows Terminal Server (WTS)|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/138869] and consider using niping for network testing (see OSS note [500235 - Network Diagnosis with NIPING|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/500235].

Hi Harald,

All the notes you mentioned are either related to Citrix Server or SAPRouter which I dont have access to. I have access just to the Citrix Client.

Anyways I got the Issue resolved. For benefit of others, here are the links and steps I followed to resolve.

As mentioned earlier I could ping the servers from my m/c. I got the IPs from reply.

Updated the hosts file with the IP and Server name.

Checked whether the IP and port for the server are reachable using telnet (telnet < IP> <port>)

(ex: telnet 192.168.1.100 3200 )

You should get a blank screen with flashing cursor when you run telnet to a valid target. If not, you'll get an error. Use Ctrl-] then 'quit' to break out.

Updated the services file with sapdp<System Number> 32<system Number>/tcp

That's it. I could logon to SAP.

Note: 1. In Windows 7 telnet is not on by default. Use Turn Windows features on or off in Control Panel to Switch on.

2. Hosts and services files (in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc) cannot be updated only using Admin logon. For this, you have to open the notepad using (Run as Administrator) and then open the files.
