SAP on Windows 7 Ultimate

Hi,

Needs answer quickly.

Can SAP ERP 6 be installed on Windows 7 Ultimate on Laptop (compaq presario cq61-408tx) with high end configuration ( 2.2 GHZ RAM, 320 GB HDD ) ?

The Windows 7 kernel is the same as Windows 2008 R2 (Windows 6.1). Since Windows 2008 R2 is not yet released for SAP systems the installation won't work out of the box.

It means it must need server like Windws server 3 type os to install ERP / ECC 6.

you cannot install SAP server products on Windows 7. This does not means that it is impossible, but you will get no support.

Hi Eric,

I've tried it & since the Win 7 kernel is not supported by SAP..it is impossible right now.

The installation halts midway.

i hope we can install the ecc6 in win7 .

I don't like the VM in win7, it's too slow.

do we have any other way to install it in win7?

No.

ERP 6.0 was never designed to run on client operating systems.

Hi,

You will get all the required information at [PAM for ECC6.0|https://websmp108.sap-ag.de/~form/handler?_APP=00200682500000001303&_EVENT=DISP_NEW&00200682500000002804=01200615320900001296]. It will give you the information about the supported OS , DB and other required things.

Also , you can refer the official Installation Guide of ECC 6.0 to get the info over the required Hardware and Software fore the successful installation. You can find such Installation guide at [https://service.sap.com/instguides|https://websmp108.sap-ag.de/instguides].
