SAP IDES on WIn 2008 R2 server

Hi gurus

I have installed the OS Win 2008 R2 server for IDES EHP4, it is little confusing regarding ADDITIONAL FEATURES, and ROLES which may requires to install after OS get installed, i would like to know is there any guide to install the 2008 R2 OS for SAP specific installations.

Or any specific tasks need to be done as a post installatin steps after installing the OS

Hi,

After installing window 2008, you have to install JDK, IIS etc. All this information you can find in the installation guide as prerequisite before starting system installation.

Windows 2008 R2 are not yet supported .

Note 1383873 - Windows Server 2008 R2 Support

Yes Balaji..please don't use R2..the R2 kernel is not supported by SAP.

You can only use Windows upto NT 6.0 for SAP.

Hi Saba,

All SAP system in my company is running on windows 2003. ( SAP version is ERP 6.0 NW 7.0 SR2)

our domain is going to upgrade to 2008 server R2. only domain not sap server OS.

and Exchange will be upgraded to 2010.

Please tell me after upgrading domain to win 2008R2 and exchange to 2010 will it affect my SAP system, like printing from sap, emailing from SAP etc.

Now Scenario number 2:-

can we upgrade OS of our sap system , windows 2003 server to windows 2008 R2.

SAP system is ERP 6.0 NW 7.0 SR2.
