One POS contain number of PA, one PA does not contain number of POS why?

I have a small query in my mind pl give me the clear details

One POS contain number of PA, one PA does not contain number of POS why?

Sivaram,

POS contains your characteristic combinations which is considered as master data, like product location etc.,

PA contains Key figures which is considered as transaction data like sales, forecast etc.,

So one product location can contain different sales, forecast values based on different factors. But can a sales/forecast contain links to different product/location.

That is why we have one POS to many plng areas and not one plng area to many POS.

you mean master data like product,location... will never change(its unique) but transactional data

is changing like forecast, sales am i right,

for example if u take one product FB3131 this product sales in kolkata is 2300

same product FB3131 sales in hyderabad is 2500,like patna sales is 2000.

so in this example master data product is not changing but transactional data SALES is changing.

so one POS containg many PA,but one PA does not contain many POS bz of master data is unique

am i right or not if iam wrong pl correct me with an example.

Sivaram,

You are right, transaction data is the one which changes very frequently and the master data changes very rarely. For master data changes we have concepts like realigment.
