c:\usr\sap\SID\upg\startup.bat file hangs when run

I am trying to resume an upgrade (SAP PI 7.0 system to 7.1) by running c:\usr\sap\SID\upg\startup.bat

c:\usr\sap\SID\upg\startup.bat runs but does not do anything, it just displays a blank screen (command prompt).

Please can you let me know how to resolve this?

Windows Server 2008 and MS SQL Server 2005 SP3.

Hi,

Try below thing:

"If your UAC on Windows 2008 is enabled (if you didn't switch it off) you have to start sapehpi using a security elevated cmd.exe:

Start -> execute -> cmd.exe --> press CTRLSHIFTENTER and confirm the dialog box.

This is due to the new security model in Windows 2008.

You can switch to ""Windows 2003 mode"" by executing ""msconfig"", scrolling down and launching ""disable UAC"" and reboot."
