A local application server to develop a Java webdynpro ...

Hi all

I would like to be able to debug my webdynpro into my laptop and using J2EE engine into my laptop ... How can I do ?

Hi Jerome,

Please check configtool.bat (\usr\sap\<Your server SID>\J00\j2ee\configtool\configtool.bat) in server directory...there is option to check for server to debug mode

configtool.bat>>Cluster Data>>Instance <your instance ID>>VM Enviroment >> Here you can find Debug mode parameter >> Set TRUE

Then restart your serevr.

Yes but I prefer to develop in local within my laptop ... Is it possible ? because remote debug isn't very fast ?

Hi Jerome,

Yes, it is possible.

First, You need to test whether you are able to ping your server or not (RUN >> Ping <host name>)

Update your server IP address and host name in host file entry at (RUN > drivers > etc > host file)

local debug is possible, but you have to get a "super" laptop, and remote debug is not that slow.

Hi Jerome,

Have you tried installing EHP1 for SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment 7.1?

You can do remote debug there is no problem,

If there is some small issue then you can try putting Messagemanager in every steps check where exactly problem is.

You can install a developer workplace on your laptop (AS Java 7.0, portal 7.0, 7.01, CE 7.1.1 or CE 7.2), it's very easy todo.

But I do prefer VMware workstation, it's better to work with a virtual machine, you can copy them before applying a SP.

I have many SAP systems on my external Hard drive and I use them for development and demos.

yes sap.net connector.... Sauf que depuis je bosse avec erp connect maintenant...
