Error installing Oracle 10.2.0.4

Hi all,

I am installing oracle 10.2.0.4 on Windows server 2008 R2 standard. For this i have downloaded the CD 51036971_4 from SAP marketplace. But when i go for setup it gives me the following error:

Checking Operating system version: must be 5.0, 5.1, 5.2 or 6.0. Actual 6.1

Failed <<<<

Please help

The installation is done for 64 bit.

I have solved the problem by editing the oraparam.ini file. But when i continue with sapinst.exe, it says that the oracle is not installed. please help

Hi,

Please check if the oracle services are started and running. Did you set the environment varaiable for oracle home directory.

Please install Oracle before starting SAP Installation.

Please check the version which you have installed is correct and compatible with Windows 2008 R2. You can get the more details about the same from http://service.sap.com/pam

Did you check if you are able to login to database through SQLPLUS from command prompt.

Which SAP relase you are trying to install ??

is it SR1, SR2 or SR3 becuase on Win 2008 SR3 and above is supported.
