Dear Gurus,

we are trying to do an MRP run but have some challenges along the line which i need ur input.

The initial setting for our database is that.... We use 'MAKE TO STOCK ' setting for raw materials and 'MAKE TO ORDER' for WIP up to FG(All Production process).

Formerly we use to do our MRP run and stop at Casting stage which is the start of production and this has been successfull. Right now we have taken it to raw material stage, that is we run MRP upto raw material stage so that it can generate plan order or ind requirement for raw materials if needed with due consideration to both open sales order and the forecast value at the same time.

The issue here is that the MRP run for open sales order does not consider available stock in the system but it generate an independent requirement for every open sales order without considering available stock. what do i need to do from SD setting to put this in order.

iset control at material level the individual/collective segment planning by setting this indicator in MRP4 view. If you set it to "collective only" then it will always be MTS and stock will be considered.
