Hi All,
I know I am asking a strange question but I tried searching it and spoken to some of my coleagues but couldn't get any satisfactory remarks.
We have HP-UX 11.31 and Oracle 10 g in our organization.
When I check teh OS level mount points I found that the total space - used space = free space( is coming little less than the actual) for every mount points and for every system.
Lets say I choose 1 st mount point " /" total space - used space comes 3819840 whereas it shows
3790016. A diffrence of 28824Kb.
Does any one have some idea on this , will be greatful.
Regards,
PG

The space is used for filesystem internal objects like inode table and journal. This is more or less the same on any filesystem, you always get a little less, than you actually have.
Cheers Michael
