CONTROL_NOT_FOUND dumps in VT02N

Hello,

We have been experiencing a recurring dump in VT02N with error 'CONTROL_NOT_FOUND'. In the system log, the error details read as follows:

<b>The termination occurred in the ABAP program "SAPLSPO5" in "%_CTL_OUTPUT"

The main program was "SAPMV56A ".

The termination occurred in line 30 of the source code of the (Include) program "<SYSINI>" of the source code of program "<SYSINI>" (when calling the editor 300).</b>

This is the code extract from program SAPMSSYD where the dump supposedly occurred:

<b>000270 * Nach DCO

000280 module %_CTL_OUTPUT output.

000290 perform %_CTL_OUTPUT in program SAPMSSYD using SY-REPID if found

-

> endmodule.</b>

The activities in VT02N when these dumps happened are detailed below:

<b>Enter shipment #-execute

Uncheck planning

Look for delivery #

Minus out delivery#

Save (when saving it takes you back to the beginning of vt02)

Enter

Check planning (this is where it sometimes will not check and it will freeze and will take us to an error message)</b>

What confuses us is this error <b>does not</b> always happen when the process above is done. Until now, we are unable to replicate the dump at will, though it still happens frequently. And we still cannot identify what causes them.

Could someone help us figure out why this is error is happening?

Thanks a lot for you help.

Best Regards,

Gladys

We're experiencing the same recurring error on different transaction (IW51), this error seems to be unique to certain users (only two users affected so far out of so many active users in the system). I've checked the SAPGUI Frontend for the user and it seems to be the same as the rest. Have you found any solution to your problem?

Hi Gladys!

I experienced problems with controls in the past quite often (without being able to replicate), when the SAPGUI installation of the client wasn't up to date. Especially anoying in case you prepared something on your own computer and in the following presentation you just run into various dumps with the computer linked to the beamer...

Make sure ALL computers have a new GUI and are patched - usually this has fixed most problems.

Hello Christian,

This is something very helpful! ü Could you tell us where/how can we determine the patch level of a computer?

Thanks for your reply.

Gladys

Hi Gladys,

not the computer (OK, this should have patches, too - but here usually internet safety is a question), but the GUI should be patched.

Just have a look at SAP logon (the window with all the logons listed), in left upper corner you can open a small menu, last line is 'about' -> number will be displayed.

GUI for Windows version 640 currently patch-level 19 is up-to-date.

Christian
