Hi Experts,
we have installed a new truetxpe font on a customer system. The customer had this font normally installed in his local windows operating system (TTF-Files in C:\Windows\Fonts). We installed it on the SAP system from the customers TTF-files. I didn't have this font on my local windows operating system!
Then we created a smartform with the new font. On the customers screen, we had the new font shown absolutly correct. On my screen we had the standard Helvetica Font, because the SAP-system couldn't find the font in my path C:\Windows\Fonts.
The we brought the files in my local path and after that it worked on my screen too!
Now my question. Is it really necessary to have the font-files on every local system on which we want to show forms?? Isn't it possibly to install the font on a server or completely on the SAP-system, so that users without a local installed font can use it anyway?
Thanks a lot for your help!
Best Regards,
Ingmar
Hello,
If you print with the SAPWIN/SWIN device type, the SAP printer driver
does not send the font definition, only the name of the TrueType font.
If this font is not installed on the PC on which SAPlpd is executed,
SAPlpd will print a substitute font automatically selected by Windows.
Check SAP note 201307 also.
Regards,
David
