Issue related to Item proposal

Hi All,

We have a requirement wherein we wish to use Item Proposal. The scenario here is that we wish to sent printed manuals to customers whenever asked for. This gonna be drop ship process. For this functionality we wish to use Item Proposal. So that we can create item proposal, put the item proposal number in sales order, select which are ordered and delete others and process the order further.

What we are trying to do is, put main material number in the Product Proposal field ( External number range ) and then put sub materials ( manuals ) and quantity etc.

Then put the Item proposal number in sales order and process further.

The issue we are facing here is that the character length of Item Proposal number field is 10 but our materials have more than 10 characters.

Guide us on this. Let me know if any other things is required by you to guide us.

Maybe you can try to key in the main material number in the descripiton field.

And the item proposal no. be assigned according to a specific rule that you can distinct.

By the way, As we know, Item proposal can be searched by many criterias in sales order prosessing.

One of the key field is Description.
