I need to do the upgrade of sap system.

When I put the path of the download directory I get this error:

ERROR: This SAPup version 31.000 is no longer supported. Replace SAPup with at least version SAPup version 31.004

I´ve tried all SAPup versions of the 7.00, 7.01 and 7.10 and always I get the same.

What can i do?

I´ve tried with this versions:

SAPup7103_28-10004654.SAR

SAPup7104_6-20004321.SAR

SAPup7105_6-10004654.SAR

SAPup7107_15-20004321.SAR

And with all of them I get the error.

The nº DVD is this D51036889

Thanks

Hi,

Ensure you download the latest SAPup from the service marketplace.

Can you please confirm if you extracted the new SAPup in location

/usr/sap/<SAPSID>/upg/abap/bin

Please rename the old SAPup.exe file before extraction.

Once you are in the above location after the files have been extracted

try the command SAPup -v

If SAPup -v fails with

"

The application has failed to start because its side-by-side

configuration is incorrect. Please see the applic

ation event log for more detail.

"

Please check note:

1375494-SAP system does not start after applying SAP kernel patch

and

684106 - Microsoft runtime DLLs

if you are windows.

Hi Ruben,

I think you need at least 31.004 I think to pass this issue.

What release and operating system are you using? Unicode or non? 32 or 64 bit?

Please download the latest SAPup version from SAP Service Marketplace.

The message is saying: you need the 31.004 but currently the 31.000 is

in use.

You can download it from service.sap.com/swdc

-> Support Packages and Patches

-> Entry by Application Group

-> Additional Components

-> Upgrade Tools

-> SAPUP

After getting the newest one:

Please refer to note

821032-Corrections for SAPup release 7.00

To replace SAPup, you need to:

-Rename old SAPup, To do this, go to the directory

<DIR_PUT>\bin.

-Replace the old SAPup version with the latest SAPup version for your

product from the SAP Service Marketplace.

-Unpack SAPup into the directory <DIR_PUT>\bin.

-Restart PREPARE or SAPup.

This information is also mentioned in the upgrade guide.

Paul

I guess that is the issue. Download the latest SAPup, copy it to /abap/bin ( you can remove or rename the old one). Run the ./SAPup -v again to make sure it shows the downloaded version. Then you should be good to go.

Hope this helps.

When I extract the SAPupXXX.sar I get the folder \bin and sapupmanifest.mf. I put directly in the \abap\bin ?

Hi,

I've had the same problem. You have to install the SAPup patch (31.004 or higher) proactively.

Here is what you do (<upg_dir> denotes the path to the upgrade directory):

- Log in as <sid>adm

- Open a command shell

cd <upg_dir>\abap
move bin\SAPup.exe bin\SAPup.exe.orig
SAPCAR -xvf <SAPup_patch>.SAR

bin\SAPup -V rootdir=<upg_dir>\abap
This is SAPup version 7.10/x, build 31.00x for UNICODE

I run the the upgrade program, the sapup creates the folder abap, then I stop the upgrade program and copy the sapup patch in the folder \abap\bin. Then when i tried to start again the upgrade program I get this:

The operation extract status RUNNING was revised to ABORTED

Unable to execute the SDT request ABAP operation extract on hostname stdp instance 00 Extraction of the ABAP upgrade request ABAP has failed Error from unit observer Tool connector failed. the system is unicode

This is SAPup version 7.10/7, build 31.000, this is the version of the actual SAPup.

In the SMP, in the 710 UNICODE only there are the next sapup patches

SAPup7103_28-10004654.SAR SAPup7103 28 Info 13239 18.01.2010

SAPup7105_6-10004654.SAR SAPup7105 6 Info13430 18.01.2010

In the upgrade program says that the sapup patch can be in the upgrade directory, but this is not correct.

The solution is this:

Note 1375494 - SAP system does not start after applying SAP kernel patch

SAPup7107_15-20004321.SAR SAPup7107

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the Note 1375494. The solution is in this Note.

When i run sapup -V in a command box, i get " The system cannot execute the specified program. "

Its a Windows host.

Once you execute the command, go to My Computer - Manage - Event Viewer - System - Sort the results and see the latest.

Regards,

Mohan.
