Hi,
I would like to change the service user for UDS Host from 'Local System' to my user id. In the 'Service Password' property there are 3 fields 'Old Secure Text', 'New Secure Text' and 'Retype Secure Text'. Can somebody explain what goes in these fields?
Regards,
Chanti.
Hi CKxMII,
easy:
In case of previous user beeing "Local System" leave the "Old Secure Text" empty.
In case of any other previous user provide that users password in "Old Secure Text".
Give the password of the new user and confirm it in the other fields.
Make sure that the user under which UDS is running does have the "Login as a service" right. Advantage is also that OPC-Server rund under same user as UDS. Keep an eye on DCOM rights
Good luck,
Matthias

I am also facing another issue "Protected Storage Password???". Any clues?

Yes, known issue. Has something todo with the Windows "protected service". Look under services. Maybe just disabling it will help (no guarantee!).
With this error message happening you are not able to set the credentials for the UDS service. Also, configuring user and password directly in the UDS service does the job.
